Dress Code
No jeans, heavy tennis shoes, or clothes that cover your body. Your instructor needs to see your body line to improve your dance skills. Please wear fitted work-out clothes. Yoga-style pants, athletic tops, tights, and leotards are all acceptable. All hair must be pulled away from the face. Dee’s Dance Shop (16207 SE Mcloughlin Blvd. near Milwaukie (503) 652-0475) and The Leotard on Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. offer our students a 10% discount.
Tap Shoes: All tap shoes should be black. Young Beginners should wear patent leather flat tap shoes with attached taps. All others should wear Tele-tone Capezio taps in a flat or oxford style. Black Oxfords for men and boys. Advanced students, please see your instructor.
Jazz Shoes: Slip-on black jazz shoes by Dimartino and Block. No bare feet or heavy tennis shoes.
Hip Hop Shoes: Clean, lightweight tennis shoes.
Check with your instructor before class. Used shoes are available in Tap Studio. Please check with Colly.
General Rules
Please bring with you only what is essential for your dance class. Please label all personal items. The L.O. Dance School is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Only students and instructors are allowed in the classroom during class time. Parents are welcome to view class on the first class day of each month. “Bring a friend” is held on the first class day of each month.
No gum chewing or eating in class. You will be allowed to eat in the hall, but please remember that the Lakewood Center is a business. There is no running or leaving garbage in the hall.
